Where to play pickleball in Australia

Where to play pickleball in every Australian capital and on the Gold Coast, with verified clubs, council courts and indoor venues, plus each state association and how to find courts near you.

Short answer: the official way to find a place to play in Australia is Pickleball Australia's Places to Play map, which lists clubs and venues affiliated through the state and territory associations and says there are over 500 locations. My city guides below go further: each lists venues I confirmed on a public page in November 2026, including private centres, council courts and clubs, with a source link for every entry.

Pickleball Australia's home page showed 29,835 members and 446 clubs when I checked in November 2026. On top of those affiliated clubs, there are privately run centres, council courts and tennis clubs that hire out courts, and not all of them show up on the official map. That is the gap these guides try to fill.

How do I find pickleball courts near me?

Work through these in order:

  1. Check my city guide for your nearest capital or the Gold Coast.
  2. Use Pickleball Australia's Places to Play map. It covers affiliated clubs and venues nationally, including regional towns I do not cover yet.
  3. Check your state association's site. Several publish their own lists: Pickleball WA splits Perth into North of River, South of River and Eastern Suburbs; Pickleball SA lists courts for hire; Pickleball Victoria tags clubs, community groups and venues.
  4. Check your council's website. Many councils have line-marked public courts. Search your council's site for "pickleball".
  5. Ask at your local tennis club. Pickleball courts fit inside a tennis court, and some tennis clubs run pickleball sessions.

What kind of venue should I choose?

Is there pickleball in regional Australia?

Yes. Pickleball Australia's state championships list includes the 2026 Northern Territory Championships in Alice Springs, and state associations list regional clubs as well as city ones; Pickleball Tasmania, for example, lists community groups at Richmond, Dodges Ferry and Sorell. I have started with the capitals and the Gold Coast because that is where most Australians live. For regional areas, Pickleball Australia's Places to Play map is the best starting point.

How I build these lists

I only list a venue if I found a public page this month confirming it offers pickleball, and I link that page as the source. I list the name, suburb and website, plus short notes taken from the source. I never copy phone numbers or emails, and I do not rate or rank venues. If your club is missing or a detail has changed, let me know. Read the full editorial policy.
