Short answer: in central Sydney you can play at House of Pickle Darling Harbour (8 outdoor courts on the ICC Sydney Event Deck), on the rooftop court at Ultimo Community Centre, on the Broadway Shopping Centre rooftop in Glebe, or at Racquet Club Sydney in Moore Park. Further out there are indoor centres at Seven Hills, Frenchs Forest, Camellia and Caringbah, council courts in Rozelle, Eastwood and Riverwood, and clubs listed by the Pickleball Association of NSW (PANSW).

Sydney has a mix of pay-and-play commercial venues, council courts and member clubs, and it is not always obvious which is which from a search result. This page sorts them out.

Who runs pickleball in NSW?

The Pickleball Association of NSW (PANSW) is the state organisation under Pickleball Australia. Its affiliated clubs list for Sydney includes Sydney Inner West Pickleball Club, Sutherland Shire Pickleball Club, Northern Beaches Pickleball Club, Bondi Pickleball Club, Sydney Social Pickleball Inc, Toongabbie Pickleball Inc and the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Pickleball Association. PANSW also keeps a court hire page listing venues that rent courts.

Pickleball Australia reported in February 2025 that NSW had 6,093 members, more than Queensland (5,172) or Victoria (2,508) at the time. PANSW news from October 2026 reported that the Sutherland Shire club alone had reached 800 members.

Pickleball in the Sydney CBD and Darling Harbour

ICC Sydney announced in January 2026 that eight purpose-built pickleball courts had been built on its Event Deck, operated by House of Pickle as House of Pickle Darling Harbour. It runs a First Timers program and hires paddles. PANSW's events list includes a House of Pickle and Pickleball NSW Tour de Cure charity tournament there on 28 November 2026.

For a cheaper casual hit near the city, the City of Sydney lists casual pickleball on the rooftop court at Ultimo Community Centre, open to all skill levels with low-cost paddle hire. Play Pickle runs four open-air courts on the Broadway Shopping Centre rooftop in Glebe, with equipment provided.

Moore Park and the eastern suburbs

Racquet Club Sydney in Moore Park lists five outdoor pickleball courts alongside padel. When I checked, its page still carried an "Opening 1 October 2026" line, so confirm it is taking bookings. Bondi Pickleball Club is on PANSW's affiliated club list.

Inner west and council courts

Inner West Council publishes a "parks with pickleball" list naming Gladstone Park and Rozelle Parklands. Rozelle Parklands has a multi-purpose court listed for pickleball among other sports, free for casual use.

In the north-west, the City of Ryde resolved in March 2022 to line-mark six courts at Brush Farm Park in Eastwood for pickleball, and PANSW lists courts there bookable through Ryde Council. In the south-west, PANSW lists Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre in Riverwood, a council-run centre where a full basketball court converts to four pickleball courts.

On the Northern Beaches, the council announced new outdoor hard courts at Winnererremy Bay Park, Mona Vale, in April 2025, suited to several sports including pickleball. They are multi-sport courts, not dedicated pickleball courts.

Western Sydney

House of Pickle Seven Hills has five indoor courts. PANSW lists Camellia Indoor Sports Centre, near Parramatta, with nine indoor courts for hire. PicklePoint in Milperra runs dedicated outdoor courts with long opening hours. Blacktown has hosted national-level play: Experience Gold Coast, citing Pickleball Australia, reported that the 2023 Australian Pickleball Championships in Blacktown drew more than 700 participants. PANSW lists the 2027 NSW Pickleball Championships for Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope Gardens, from 16 to 18 April 2027.

The Sutherland Shire

The Shire has one of the strongest local scenes in the country. Sutherland Shire Pickleball Club hosted the Spirit of Pickleball Tournament in January 2026 at Sutherland Basketball Stadium. In August 2026, Picklr opened its first Australian club in Caringbah, with 11 permanent indoor courts. Australasian Leisure Management reported that Picklr chose the Shire because players were already there, relying on shared community venues and temporary court setups.

How to choose a Sydney venue

  1. Just want to try it once? A pay-and-play venue with paddle hire is easiest: Ultimo Community Centre, Broadway rooftop or a House of Pickle First Timers session.
  2. Want regular cheap social play? Join a PANSW-affiliated club near you and ask about its social sessions and fees.
  3. Want indoor play year round? Seven Hills, Frenchs Forest, Camellia, Riverwood and Caringbah all list indoor courts.
  4. Want to compete? Look at PANSW's events calendar and my tournaments guide.

Missing a venue?

I only list venues confirmed on a public page this month. Several Sydney venues I came across did not state enough on their own pages to include. If your club is missing, send me a link to a page that confirms it.
